Emmanuel’s photographs are a collection of moments from a life we’ve never known. Intentionally cinematic, each shot is a still frame from a rambling, sincere and vulnerable love letter to the world.
Born in 1989, the son of Dominican immigrants, Emmanuel got his first camera in 2006. It became his escape from a challenging childhood growing up in Harlem, New York, and helped him discover a new sense of freedom. His photographs depict candid moments with people who choose to live life outside of the conformity of mainstream society. Rooted in the classic American style of “on the road photography,” his photographs are windows into his life living between Amiens (France), Austin, Detroit and New York, and traveling through forty-four US states.
